Flickering Glades, 2019 | Dance Film | 10 minutes
Overlaying a series of long exposure photography over video while following the pulsating beat of the photographic snap, Flickering Glades is a moving portrait of the many dances of nature in the Everglades. As a juxtaposition to the “compartmentalization of the Everglades” with its canals as infrastructure, this film is meant to let loose that constraint.
Flickering Glades was directed by Claudio Marcotulli and choreographed by AIRIE Fellow Dale Andree during her residency in collaboration with dancers Katie Brennan, Barbie Freeman, Rebecca Pelham, Amanda Ruiz and Oscar Trujillo with music by Ray Robinson and Samuel Tommie. Filmed at the Long Pone Key Trail, Everglades National Park with support from AIRIE-Artists in Residence in Everglades.
